Turkey
From 1989 to 1996 I lived and worked in Istanbul as the
managing director for a leading German forwarding organisation. I established and
headed a local Ltd. company with branches in Istanbul, Izmir,
Mersin and Kapikule. Our main business was project forwarding for industrial
plants as well as supply chain logistics for the car manufacturing industry. From Istanbul
I also covered the area Near-/Middle East. |

Jordan
In Jordan I lived from 1986 to 1989 as Chief
Delegate for the Near-/Middle East for a leading German forwarding organisation and
travelled within this area intensively. Jordan will also be particularly
interesting in the months to come regarding the
new situation in Iraq. |

Iraq
Before the Gulf War I was responsible for large
logistic projects such as airports, power plants, and industrial projects. The local
branches in Baghdad and Basrah were my responsibility.
Due to the natural wealth in resources this
country remains very interestíng although the present
situation
makes business very difficult for the time being. But I still maintain my contacts and stay
in touch with local developments. Each year I follow up my contacts during the annual Baghdad International Fair . See also my travel report from November 1999. I am also available
for field trips to assess the new situation once the war has finished.
I am looking for sponsors for a first fact finding mission in order to
assess the current situation from the logistics point of view. I am ready to
leave as soon as possible. Klick here to

Saudi Arabia
I lived in Dammam and Jeddah 1983 to 1986 and
handled the logistics for large industrial projects such as power plants, sea-water
desalination plants and a big shopping center. |

Libya
From 1982 to 1983 I lived and worked in Tripoli,
Libya and handled logistics for power plants, cement factories. steel plants and sea-water
desalination plants. As a member of the German-Arab Society I
went with a delegation on a trip to Libya in March 2000 . A
revival in business is expected as the country has to catch up a lot due to long lasting
sanctions. Also here I maintain excellent local contacts. |
